November 09, 2015

Hello again! Welcome to the new Fragile website. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? A lot of things have happened during this time. As you may have known from a past blog post, my boyfriend’s mom passed away in February. That was bad in and of itself, but he and all his family are in the States, so I had to drop everything and travel to be with him. As anyone who has gone through a traumatic event such as a loss, knows that healing is a long process, and I wanted to help him. This meant that a lot of my time was spent dealing with day-to-day issues, and the free time I had was for work. Not everything has been bad these past couple of months, some amazing things happened. My baby niece is growing and walking (and loves my banana bread), I have ran into old (Hi Mako!) and new (Hey Kata, Jessi, Jules, Drea, Brenda, and many more!) friends while at conventions who have helped me in ways they might not understand how thankful I am, I have been coloring Jem and the Holograms (working with Sophie and Kelly is such an honor), I went to San Diego Comic Con for the first time ever to sign Jem issues at the IDW booth (!!!) and met all the editors I have been working with all these years of me busting my way through comics, helped Gisèle with her Kickstarters and getting everything ready to print more books... but something was missing. My own comic was collecting dust and spiderwebs, and I had this feeling of not being able to continue writing it because I just thought my scripts weren’t good and that I was stalling as a writer. However! One day I saw a link about hiring a freelance editor, and I e-mailed Lara, who has been super patient and helpful and now I feel I have the confidence I needed to continue. I’ve dashed through the scripts of chapter 06, and now I’m back to thinking ahead with the story, working on Springiette and more comic ideas, helping my boyfriend, working on artwork and videos, and simply creating everything that I can. The year is drawing to a close and I will revisit my 2015 goals, and write new ones for 2016. I hope you all stick around to see what I have planned.

Thank you! ♥
