Voting incentives!
October 04, 2011

Thanks everyone for the nice feedback on the comic! I am very nervous about it, I really do wanna give my best on this story. ^^ I wanted to let you know, if you vote for Fragile on TopWebcomics (you can also find a link below the sharing bar), you'll be able to see new sketches and snippets of future updates! There will be a new incentive every week (but you can vote every day), plus it will help more people know about Fragile! :D See you next update!

Just wanted to tell you how much I am loving your web comic so far! The art is crisp and I find myself looking forward to how this story develops. The only thing I dislike so far is the wait between the updates. ^^

Thank you, Rogue! The plan is, if the comic is well received, to update three times a week in the future. ^^ So, we'll see!

Been reading your comics since Springiette. I think your drawing is adorable, but its even better when you have plot-fu to go with it! Seems to be off to a great start, the key to a good story is good characters as they say ^_^

Its especially a pleasure coming from the M3 and EC comics as I do. They are wonderful comics, don't get me wrong, but lacking in the kawaii factor. I almost squealed allowed at Marian's expression during the lolcats joke! And you do Jess's expression really well too though I have a weakness for feisty red-heads I think :P

Deleting the pictures instead of breaking the camera. You get into less trouble that way. Next, I'd expect an apology. I wonder how long it would take.

^ However, if she deleted the photos from the band shoot as well... Let's hope they backed them up while they were viewing them on the laptop, for Emily's sake. Jessica'd probably go supernova.

And this is what happens when I miss the reply button somehow. Ah well.

I just want to say, you've hooked me right from the start with this comic--interesting set-up, relateable characters, solid art.

And while I admit I'd love a faster update schedule, think hard about doing it officially. If you think you can, then I'd say do it behind the scenes, first--draw an extra page a week, for a few months, building up a solid buffer. That way, if you can't keep it up, you'll have less disappointment factor among your fanbase, and at the same time, you'll be able to cope with minor crises that arise (because the buffer will let you keep updating on your normal schedule).

Now, one option that falls in the middle (and IMNSHO, is quite acceptable) is the donation bonus comic. Set up a donation bar near the comic. When donations hit a certain level, there's a bonus page that same week. (If you've built up a buffer, it's easy to slip one in and just work a bit to restore the buffer--another advantage!) I've noticed that this seems to be one of the more successful approaches to webcomic income.

Finally--the chibi voting incentive? AWESOME! [Modified by: Shouri on November 04, 2011 09:23 PM]

Bah. Line breaks in the comment box do not work. Sorry for the wall of text, all!

^^/ Thanks for the comments!

I do generally work with buffers, because of that exact same reason. I HATE missing updates, and I've been keeping up with Springiette fairly well... but this week has just been impossible due to personal reasons, plus work (if you read EC, you'll see that the book will be out soon! I ink the bonus pages XD). So yes, once things here get a bit calmer, I will surely work on being at least one page ahead again (how it was in the start). I'll take your suggestions in consideration, and if down the line I feel confident, I will try to bump updates 3 times a week :)

(And improve the comments :P)

*hug!

How I missed drawing comics. T^T
If you've been following me on Twitter, you'd see that I had planned to return mid-March, but during my trip my boyfriend had a medical emergency and I had to stay over for a couple more weeks to take care of him. And as soon I returned home, I had to accommodate family visiting for Easter. XD; Picking dates always ends up being a problem with me. But here I am, a new comic is up, and more will continue to be up until it's time to compile all of them into Fragile Volume 1! :D We catch up with Karen and Marian, and what about Emily...?
